| Welcome to one of
our Projects - Exploring Vision Loss is an insight into what people with
reduced vision see and don't see. We hope this will be of use to fully sighted people - to help them further understand, irregardless of their purpose, whether they be a friend, a carer, a partner, parent, sibling or student and so on... It is also our hope that visually impaired people may find it useful and of interest to see what their peers see - to understand each other better... While looking at it from the visually impaired person's perspective... if this library can be expanded as we hope it will be to cover more conditions, they might well say to someone 'if you want to know what I can see, the best idea is to look here' and give this web address... As the website grows we will be adding a library of conditions and that will be linked here to show the Name, Clinical Information and Visual Results of each condition. Click HERE to view Exploring Sight Loss It is interesting to think, ponder, that with our new technology, we are seeing digital cameras that produce outstanding images, using between 2 and 6 million pixels... our eyes use on average 230,000 pixels! This allows us to do a variety of tasks that we take for granted on a daily basis, such as low light resolution, extrapolation of partial images, change from short focus to long focus without delay, tracking fast moving objects, the list is endless - they truly are remarkable! |
